The Capsule: Safety Razor Travel Case

But so did the case design. And the red OliWorks razor is just plain badass! Jim got me to buy an OliWorks just from looking at his case.

Now back to The Capsule. This is a proprietary design by Jim. Its simple and efficient. Its protective. Its weapon quality thick. Itll hold a long handled razor and more blades than you can use on a several week trip. Jim thought of it all. For being so unique and sturdy, its cheap and affordable, too.

The case arrived quickly and is clearly of high quality. It weighs more than I thought it would and the construction is pretty stout. It isn’t a small item, but that was clear from the pictures. Bottom line: your razor—no matter how much it costs or how much sentimental value it has—will not be damaged while traveling. And the way the inner sleeve is constructed you will be able to place on the hotel bathroom’s counter to keep razor, blades, and base plates (if applicable) in one place without an issue. Lastly, while I bought it for a DE razor, my GEM twist-to-open razors fit nicely too, but not the older ones that are patented circa 1911.

This thing is a tank!!! Incredibly well engineered, cool design, looks fantastic. Can't wait to take it on the next trip.

I can say, it is the most protective razor case I have ever seen, and able to sustain more abuse, while fully protecting your razor under about any conditions I can think of. As it is plastic, I would recommend keeping it under 140 degrees. It is made in a heavy, fairly thick construction of 3D printing material in the shape of a tube, which would dissipate any shock. The top is heavily threaded and fits tightly to the main tube. The tray is robust, can handle 4 full plastic blade holders(like white Feather blades come in), or 4 razor Base Plates for the Rockwell or other similar razors, there is room for slightly larger plates, measures 2” long , 7/16ths wide. The system is designed to hold full sized razors, and handles to 4-1/4”.
I tested my full set of razors in the case, including Gillette Fatboy, Merkur 34c, 39c HD Slant, Muhle R89, R41 and R41Grande Stainless, Henson mild, Rockwell T-2 & 6S, Pearl Flexi Adjustable, Feather AS-D2 Stainless and Viking Emperor, all fit well. The only Razor that would not fit was a Van Der Hagen licensed version of the Muhle Futur, who’s head was too wide by less than a 1/4 inch.

Super secure travel case! It packs so easily and doubles as a counter top organizer! Another great JRM design!

I love the JRM cases; there was much thought that went into the design, functionality, and size. I purchased three different travel cases from their product line. However, It must be stated that these cases are produced from a hardened plastic, and do not have the fine machine “fit” (or tolerance)
normally associated with metal. Therefore, sustained use may cause case fittings such lids and caps to wear out or to loose their original fits.

Very nice case. While I haven't yet traveled with it, I plan to for some upcoming summer travel. It certainly appears to be well made and sturdy. I think it will probably last for many years to come. I'm a little surprised someone hasn't brought one of these to market before now! Nice job guys!

The Capsule is exactly what I didn't know I needed. It's sturdy, well made, and keeps my safety razor protected when I travel. The extra storage for blades is a nice touch, and everything stays organized and secure.

And before anyone asks what I was using before... let's just say my travel case was a carefully folded bundle of socks. Not exactly aerospace-grade protection. The Capsule is a massive upgrade and gives me much more confidence that my razor will survive the trip better than my packing skills.

This is a well made and well designed travel case for your DE razor and blades - keeping in mind that it needs to go into checked luggage if blades are included. It takes a bit of fiddling the first time around to figure out what goes where, but the placements of items is intuitive and very soon everything is in it's correct place. I like that it has a secure cap that keeps everything inside and it is very easy to take the entire piece out and take it to the bathroom sink when traveling. Ditto when it is time to pack. The container is waterproof, so wet items can be packed easily and it appears sturdy and solid enough to provide years of service.

Its much bigger than I realized. On the positive it is certainly heavy duty. Nice job seeing a company making a product lines from 3D printed products.

Outstanding travel case - exactly what I needed for travel to keep blades and razor components together and protected. We are on our second Great Loop trip in our boat. This case works great using the facilities in marinas.

great concept to store a razor

I‘m very pleased with the Capsule: Safety Razor Travel Case. Made very well.

Finally, a case to travel with my razor. I usually take mine apart and on my last trip I lost my handle rendering it useless. I have bent my razors, cut my fingers on blades. With this the whole assembly is encased with room for spare blades, used blades. I am most happy with this.

The quality is on point. Well done!
